On 2nd July 2025, Mura Technology’s CEO Dr Steve Mahon was delighted to attend the launch ceremony of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation’s advanced recycling facility with ENEOS in Ibaraki, Japan – using Mura’s Hydro-PRT® technology. The partnership was first announced in June 2021 following a licence sale through KBR, Mura’s exclusive Global Licensing Partner, preferred engineering partner and investor. MCC’s 20kta capacity site will now look to achieve ISCC PLUS certification and commence to full-scale production and customer shipments.

Steve said:

I was very pleased to join Mitsubishi and ENEOS on the 2nd of July at the opening ceremony of their advanced recycling site, using Mura’s Hydro-PRT process. This launch marks a major milestone for the global push toward a circular economy. I’m proud to see our solution enabling the recycling of plastic waste at scale. By the end of this year, 60,000 tonnes of Hydro-PRT liquid circular hydrocarbon output will be in operation worldwide, and that’s incredibly exciting.

Congratulations to Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation on reaching this stage – and thank you for your continued partnership with Mura Technology in driving sustainable innovation.
