is how long it would take nature to turn plastic back into hydrocarbon feedstocks
22 August 2025
Mura Technology, the global pioneer of Hydro-PRT®, a next-generation advanced plastic recycling solution, and Dow (NYSE: DOW), the world’s leading materials science company, have jointly decided not to proceed with previously announced plans to build a Hydro-PRT facility at Dow’s Böhlen site in Germany.
Dow and Mura remain mutually committed to growing advanced recycling capacity and advancing a circular economy for plastics globally. This joint decision reflects the broader industrial context in Europe, where persistent economic and regulatory challenges continue to impact the competitiveness of manufacturing investments, including those aimed at achieving sustainability goals.
Both Mura and Dow remain confident in the partnership’s long-term value and in Mura’s unique technology, with its ability to transform plastic waste into valuable resources. Together, we are pursuing new opportunities to expand our supply portfolio in Europe.
